ALVO Sliding Door Trouble Shooter

The track - If the door can be manually operated and slides into the side frame with a continuous fluid motion. The track is functioning as designed.

If not,

  • Look at the drive belt. Ensure the clip that holds both ends together. Only rides through the entire motion without hitting any objects or pulley.
  • The door hinges, riding on track has plumb adjustment. Ensure the door is squared to the frame but not riding up.
  • The door system also has a guide for the sliding door. Mounted on the floor, underneath the door. Ensure the guide is not loose and anchors has not been unseated.

The proximity sensor – Sensor light will indicated what the sensor is seeing.

  • Red= object is in view, Door will not close.
  • Blue= object is viewed but within distance to close the door safety. Door might close a little slower. Depends on the selected program.
  • Green, No object is detected. Door will close at normal.

Note:

  1. Depends on the program selections. The proximity sensor will execute a different program. If the track lid is open during testing. It will call a different program.
  2. Both proximity must equal to green/green or green/blue. Watch door as it closes. If one of the sensors turns red. Door will abort closing. It will then reset and try again.
  3. If touchless door openers are in use. Ensure they are not pointing towards any moving parts or shadows. If they are accidently triggered. You can turn down the potentiometer.

Programing of the door – To reset program. Remove the 10 Amp backup fuse. Power on. Using a micro screwdriver. Remove the wire from pin 2. CPU will reset. Reconnect pin 2. Reinstall backup fuse. Door will relearn closing. At this time proximity might be bypassed and door counts revolution of motor. If the door doesn’t sense the latch. It will continue to learn. Meaning door will open and close but not latch.

  • If the door does not close after the reset. Remove power from the door. Close the door manually. Disconnect pin 2. Power on the door. (Door might automatically open based on the last program stored). Reconnect pin 2.
  • If the doors is wire to the fire alarm or an external trigger to open the door. CPU might need to be programmed for that function to work.
  • It’s a good idea to record the programing values and place it by the CPU. A bit writer can also be used to program the doors a little easier.
